Since 1998, the NSU Alumni Association has awarded Legacy Scholarships to students of Northeastern's alumni. Given annually, this scholarship is awarded to a first-time entering freshmen selected by a committee of Alumni Association board members. The Legacy Scholarship award is $1,500 per year, renewable for up to four years, assuming academic and service requirements are maintained.
If interested in receiving a Legacy Scholarship application, prospective students must first complete the NSU Freshmen Online Scholarship Application (by the appropriate deadline) and indicate they are a direct relation to an NSU alumnus. Those eligible will receive an invitation to apply for the Legacy Scholarship in April.
The selection committee will consider applicant's academic performance, extracurricular activities and community involvement, along with a brief essay response.
